Bronze Art : Knife, Loaf & Bread Board
Contemporary Hollow Cast Bronze : Table Top Kitchen Sculpture
The Knife, Loaf and Bread Board Sculpture is a wonderfully realistic hollow cast bronze sculpture by bronze artist John Cox, that transforms a familiar everyday kitchen scene, into an engaging work of contemporary bronze art
Created using the traditional Lost Wax Bronze Casting Method, the sculpture faithfully captures every detail, from the textured crust of the freshly baked loaf, to the classic bread board and carefully sculpted knife. The remarkable realism encourages a second look, revealing the artistry behind an object that at first glance, appears entirely ordinary
Finished with a rich hand-applied patination combining brown, black, grey, silver and oatmeal tones, the bronze surface enhances the natural textures, while adding warmth, depth and character. The result is a sculpture that celebrates both craftsmanship and the quiet beauty of everyday life
Measuring approximately 11cm high, 40cm wide, 26cm deep and weighing around 6 kilos, the Knife, Loaf and Bread Board Sculpture is ideally suited to kitchens, dining rooms, breakfast bars, display cabinets and/or private collections. Whether appreciated for its remarkable realism, artistic originality or contemporary style, it is certain to become a conversation piece wherever it is displayed
What makes the Bronze Knife, Loaf and Bread Board Sculpture unusual?
The unusual feature is the translation of a loaf of bread, a knife and a board, into one bronze artwork. John Cox’s modelling preserves the contrast between the loaf’s textured surface and the smoother utensils, while several patina colours reinforce the illusion of different materials. This 40cm wide composition, is a sculptural still life for close viewing
