Contemporary Bronze Art : Entwined Ball of Twine Sculpture

The Ball of Twine : Entwined, is a distinctive hollow cast bronze sculpture created in 2009, by renowned bronze artist John Cox of Escar UK Bronze. Inspired by one of life’s simplest everyday objects, this contemporary bronze artwork transforms the familiar into a striking sculptural statement, that encourages a fresh perspective

Expertly crafted using the traditional Lost Wax Bronze Casting Method, every intertwined strand has been carefully modelled to capture the remarkable texture and complexity of tightly wound twine. Finished in a rich brown patination with subtle highlights, the bronze surface enhances the depth, realism, and exceptional quality of the craftsmanship

What appears at first glance to be an ordinary ball of twine gradually reveals itself as an intriguing work of contemporary bronze art, rewarding closer inspection with intricate detail and flowing sculptural form. John Cox’s creative interpretation celebrates the hidden beauty of everyday objects, demonstrating how familiar subjects can become compelling works of artistic expression

Measuring approximately 180cm high, 70cm wide, 45cm deep and weighing around 50 kilos, Entwined creates an impressive focal point within galleries, corporate interiors, landscaped gardens or private collections. Its generous proportions invite viewers to explore the sculpture from every angle, revealing new patterns, textures and visual interest, with each changing viewpoint

Combining originality, craftsmanship and artistic imagination, Ball of Twine : Entwined reflects John Cox’s ability to elevate the ordinary, into something both memorable and thought-provoking. Distinctive in both scale and concept, this exceptional bronze sculpture is a lasting celebration of contemporary bronze art and timeless creative design

What makes the Bronze Ball of Twine Sculpture unique?

Entwined turns the texture of an ordinary ball of twine into a large bronze composition. The closely modelled strands encourage detailed viewing while its height of 180cm, changes a familiar object’s sense of scale. John Cox’s brown patination and highlights help the overlapping lines stand out, as light moves across its surface
