Medium Hollow Cast Bronze Hippopotamus Sculpture
Introducing Henry Hippo, the beautifully crafted Medium Hippopotamus hollow cast bronze water feature, created by bronze artist John Cox of Escar UK Bronze
This impressive sculpture captures the strength and unmistakable character of one of Africa’s most iconic animals. From the broad head and powerful body to the natural folds and texture of the skin, every detail has been carefully sculpted to create a remarkably lifelike bronze hippopotamus
Expertly crafted using the traditional Lost Wax Bronze Casting method, this hollow cast bronze sculpture showcases the exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail for which Escar UK Bronze is renowned. As a working water feature, water gently flows from Henry’s mouth, bringing movement, tranquillity and the soothing sound of flowing water to any outdoor setting
Finished with a rich brown patination with highlights, the carefully applied colouring enhances the texture, depth and realism of the sculpture, making Henry a striking feature for gardens, ponds, courtyards or landscape projects
Measuring approximately 86cm high x 65cm wide x 135cm long and weighing around 60 kilos, Henry Hippo is a substantial bronze sculpture that combines timeless artistry with the enduring beauty of traditional bronze craftsmanship
What should be considered when choosing the medium Henry hippo for a water garden?
Consider Henry’s approximate 135cm length, 65cm width and 60-kilo weight alongside the size of the pond and supporting base. Water flows from his mouth, so the position must allow the stream to land within the basin. Confirm pump requirements and maintenance access before completing the surrounding landscape
