Small Hollow Cast Bronze Hippopotamus Sculpture
Introducing Hector, the charming Small Hippo hollow cast bronze water feature, beautifully created by bronze artist John Cox of Escar UK Bronze
This delightful sculpture captures the playful character of a young hippopotamus, with Hector’s friendly expression and relaxed pose bringing warmth and personality to any garden or outdoor setting. As a working water feature, water gently flows from his mouth, creating a soothing focal point and the calming sound of moving water
Expertly crafted using the traditional Lost Wax Bronze Casting method, this hollow cast bronze sculpture is finished with a rich brown patination with highlights, enhancing the texture, depth and natural character of the bronze
Measuring approximately 40cm high x 80cm long and weighing around 10 kilos, Hector is perfectly suited to gardens, patios, ponds or courtyard settings, where his compact size allows him to fit comfortably into a wide range of landscapes
Combining traditional bronze craftsmanship with the timeless appeal of one of Africa’s most iconic animals, Hector the Small Hippo is a delightful addition for wildlife enthusiasts, collectors and anyone looking to introduce charm, movement and character to their outdoor space
Where might the small Hector hippo water feature suit a compact pond?
Hector can sit beside a compact pond or basin with his mouth directed towards the water, where the flow can be contained. He is approximately 80cm long despite being the small version, so check the available footprint. Keep surrounding plants low and leave access for the pump and connections
