Hollow Cast Bronze Smudge Catapult Crazy Elf Garden Sculpture
Smudge the Catapult Crazy Elf is a mischievous hollow cast bronze sculpture created by bronze artist John Cox of Escar UK Bronze. Full of humour and personality, this lively character captures the adventurous spirit of an elf who is always ready for his next playful escapade
Expertly crafted using the traditional Lost Wax Bronze Casting Method, the sculpture demonstrates the skill and precision associated with Escar UK Bronze. Every carefully formed detail, from Smudge’s pointed ears and expressive face to his clothing and catapult, reflects the imagination behind this distinctive bronze artwork
Finished with a striking dark blue, brown and skin-tone patination, Smudge is given depth, warmth and an engaging sense of character. The contrasting tones highlight the folds of his clothing, the texture of the bronze and the wonderfully animated expression on his face
Measuring approximately 60cm high, 50cm wide and 67cm long, and weighing around 12 kilos, this charming elf sculpture has an impressive presence without overwhelming its surroundings. It is ideally suited to gardens, patios, conservatories, interior displays or private collections where its playful personality can be fully appreciated
Smudge the Catapult Crazy Elf is a joyful celebration of fantasy, humour and traditional bronze craftsmanship. Whether displayed alone or alongside other characters from the Escar UK Bronze elf collection, he brings an unmistakable touch of mischief and elven magic to any setting
What does Smudge’s catapult add to the story of this Bronze Elf?
Smudge’s catapult suggests mischief and a possible adventure about to begin. It gives his expression and posture a narrative focus, inviting viewers to imagine what has caught his attention. Dark blue, brown and skin-tone patination separates the clothing and face, helping the character remain readable within a garden setting
