What does a Happy Buddha Statue symbolise?
The Happy Buddha, or Laughing Buddha, is associated with contentment, generosity and good fortune. The figure is based on Budai, rather than the historical Buddha. John Cox’s large seated bronze gives this cheerful subject a substantial presence, with its broad smile, rounded form, and brown and skin-tone patination
