Hollow Cast Bronze Commissioned Springer Spaniel Dog Sculpture
Sam is a privately commissioned hollow cast bronze Springer Spaniel sculpture by John Cox of Escar UK Bronze. His seated pose, attentive expression and softly falling ears capture the familiar character of a cherished companion
The sculpture was produced using the traditional lost wax bronze casting process. Carefully modelled feathering across the chest, legs and ears gives the coat texture and movement, while the balanced pose conveys the quiet presence of a dog resting close to his owner
A rich brown patination, complemented by warm bronze highlights, brings out the detail of the surface. Light catches the raised contours of the coat and face, revealing the modelling from different viewpoints
Measuring approximately 70cm high, 40cm wide and 60cm deep, and weighing around 18kg, Sam has a substantial presence. These approximate measurements should be confirmed before choosing a display surface or arranging installation
