Paul Nicholas lived in Dock Lane, Beaulieu, was a director of Pan Air Ltd and a great friend of the late Lord Edward Montagu
The hollow cast bronze statue of Paul was commissioned after his death in June 2022
Paul was well known for his generous donations to various charities including the Southampton-based Rose Road Association which offers respite breaks and community outreach services for children and young adults with severe physical disabilities and learning difficulties
He also provided £10,000 in 2018 for 11-year-old Evie Lambert from Huddersfield to receive a Hero Arm, a lightweight 3D-printed prosthetic limb inspired by bionic superheroes
